Accelerating Compliance in Fire Door Manufacturing

Your hands-on, supportive guide for fire-rating compliance

Highly experienced in the whole compliance journey

Cut delays and costs - get compliant products to market faster

Manufacturers of Fire-rated doorsets and front entrance doors are under pressure to bring new products to market faster while keeping up with evolving compliance standards and expectations. The longstanding BS 476 will cease to be recognised by 2029, causing long delays to BS EN1634 type testing and certification.

Grange Compliance helps door manufacturers stay compliant as they navigate new legislation and market-led challenges.

After nearly 15 years immersed in fire door testing, certification, and installation compliance, Neil Smith founded Grange Compliance with a clear ambition: to provide on-demand, practical support for manufacturers bringing fire-rated products to the market.

Removal of BS 476 National Standard for Fire Doors
The long recognised standard BS 476 is being replaced by EN 1634. This includes changes to documentation, practical fire testing, and verification of evidence. Grange Compliance is helping clients prepare for, and execute the changes required.

Independent

We remain free of conflicts of interest by careful selection of the clients we work with. Our focus is on doing what’s best for each client, not being influenced by supplier commissions.

Compliance Ready For Building Control & BSR Gateways
Practical aspects of The Building Safety Act are being phased in up until 2029. Developers and Principal Architects value door manufacturers that can help speed them through the new Gateways, with highly organised evidence of compliance.

Collaborative

Buildings and systems are robust and safe when all stakeholders work together. We use our industry connections to further life-safety, connecting users with providers without preference or prejudice.

Product Development and Fields of Application
There is a serious need for more availability of fire-rated doors. Every flat entrance door in the UK needs to be 30-min or more fire-rated. Grange Compliance helps prepare for type testing, third-party audits, and installation oversight.

Practical & Detailed

Having previously worked on the ‘inside’ for 15 years, our founder has walked the length and breadth of fire-rated door and hardware compliance. Practical, applied advice and on-the-ground work is what marks out Grange Compliance.

Grange Compliance don’t just identify challenges – we create and implement strategies to overcome them quickly. For manufacturers, that means preparing for successful fire testing, navigating third-party certification, and helping to maintain it through expert guidance.
